The Greater Plymouth Area Supportive Housing Program has been designed to assist families with disabilities live independently. For this program, South Shore Housing purchased ten units, which have been designated for families with specific needs.
Eligibility requirements include; homelessness with at least one member of the household being disabled. Applicants are screened to meet the rental assistance regulations, disability issues and regular landlord screening practices.
Once accepted, the family is placed in one of our units with a rent subsidy. While residing in the unit the family will work with a case manager to develop an individual service plan identifying needs of the family. The caseworker will ensure the family is connected with the necessary services and provide ongoing case management services.
Families may reside in the unit as long as they remain eligible for the program requirements.
