Special Mortgage Products: Second Soft

The Soft Second Program provides below-market mortgages through participating lenders and increases the homebuyers’ purchasing power by approximately 20%.

• The program was developed in 1990 and has served almost 6,000 low-moderate income families throughout the state.
• The average income of eligible families is $36,000
• South Shore Housing administers the program in the following towns: Carver, Duxbury, Halifax, Hanson, Kingston, Marshfield, Middleboro, Pembroke, Scituate, Wareham, and Whitman
• Borrower must complete a homebuyer counseling course that is offered at South Shore Housing. For more information on workshops dates click here
